bouldered in berkeley. v1s, v2s, tried a couple v3s, finished a v4. a really tough v3 that people were claiming should be graded higher was my main test. got far, couldn't finish. not today anyway

the first mile and a half on the treadmill was spent watching a young (mid-20's) couple do their own form of cirque de soleil as an attractive woman did somersaults and poses on her boyfriend's toward-the-sky legs before they began top roping. interesting. 4 miles

final day in nyc. clouds moved back in today. i packed up the sunshine i brought from california. time to return it. went on a run in brooklyn to the williamsburgh/greenpoint track and around the park. such a nice place. the track is filled with people on stroll, stretching, running, sitting, playing handball, and a lot of soccer on the middle field. so long for now. 3.5+ miles

sunny, warm sf day. tried a different run that i've held for better weather. ran from homebase through the eucalyptus groves to the persideo and down to crissy field. ran toward the gold gate bridge, out onto a small pier with fishermen. perfect view of the bridge. wish i had my camera. ran back through crissy field to the marina. cut up and past the exploratorium and up up up over the steep hill. i think a guy in his car at a four-way stop sign yelled at me to, "start running and stop talking!" i was only running and not talking to anyone. i don't carry a phone when i run. maybe he yelled at a driver in which you should replace "running" with "driving." unsure, i had my headphones on. anyway, i weaved my way back to masonic street and ran through the panhandle's end so i could buy some supermarket fruit and coconut water. pretty people out everywhere. and one fun run. 10.5 miles
